We are beginning the season again with a kick-off party! Format will be simple, because it’s a weeknight: desserts and beverages, and listening to WSW recordings from 2011-2012. It’s come to my attention that many members have not read this entire message about the passing of Bob Wanninger. Please click here to read the entire posting. It is with deep sadness that I must report the sudden death of Bob Wanninger, husband of WSW flutist Wendy Wanninger. Bob died on Friday evening, apparently of a sudden heart attack. Bob was an extremely devoted patron of WSW. I believe I have seen Bob at every concert since I came on the scene in 2008, and he always brought along family and friends to introduce newcomers to our music. Recently, Bob volunteered to serve on an Outreach committee to help the Board find ways of connecting better with our community throughout Westchester County. He will be missed very much.

Wendy and her family have kindly and graciously requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to our ensemble. They believe that this would genuinely have made Bob happy. Donations may be mailed to:

Visiting hours and memorial service will be at the Beecher Funeral Home in Brewster. http://beecherfuneralhome.com/.  Visiting hours are 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, July 19. The memorial service is 10-12 noon on Friday, July 20.  I’m told there will be opportunity for anyone to speak who wishes to do so. Lunch will follow at Las Mananitas Restaurant; 1520 Route 22, Brewster.
