Rehearsal with Matthew Maslanka at WPHS

This Monday, we’re very excited to welcome Matthew Maslanka to our rehearsal at White Plains. We are also welcoming Doug Kostner, organ, and Liann Cline, harp. This will be our final working rehearsal on Symphony No.4, so this is a exceptionally important evening in our journey to the performance on May 9. We are rehearsing on stage again at White Plains HS. Join me in thanking our host, Kathy Davis, for helping to make this possible.

Please keep these broad ideas in mind as we prepare for tomorrow night:

  • Rest. Get good sleep. Be sure you are physically ready for the demands of this rehearsal.
  • Continue to review the technical sections which are critical for you as an individual.
  • In our remaining rehearsals, remember to listen for the “big picture,” and remember your role within that picture. Your role changes constantly, so be prepared to listen, adjust, repeat.

All of this work is leading to three run-throughs of the symphony. Keep this in mind as you prepare.

  1. Monday, May 4, as part of our final rehearsal
  2. Wednesday, May 6, at the dress rehearsal
  3. Saturday, May 9, at the performance

The rehearsal plan is posted. See you Monday evening at White Plains.
