Rehearsal plan for Monday

Please review the rehearsal plan for March 23 here. We are doing a deep dive into the Maslanka, especially Section IV, including the jazz section, as well as Sections I, II, & III. We will have two bassoons plus contrabassoon on Monday, so I’m planning on focusing on the sections that pivot on them.

Percy Grainger Symposium at Brigham Young University

I’ll be traveling to Provo, Utah this Thursday to represent WSW and the Percy Grainger Society at the first Approaches to Performing Grainger Symposium. I’ll be giving my presentation, “Architecture & Inspiration: Percy Grainger’s Home & Studio” (see page 5) on Saturday morning. This symposium has been in the planning stages for over a year, and I’m very humbled to be speaking on behalf of our ensemble and the Society.

No rehearsal on Monday, March 30

Many public schools have spring break next week, so we are not holding rehearsal. Enjoy and we’ll see you next on April 6 at New Rochelle HS.
