As announced last week, Jeff Ball, who commissioned and premiered Moth, will be visiting Monday evening to conduct a clinic on the piece.
We’ll also be rehearsing the Tull and both movements of the Mackey.
See you tomorrow night at TMH!

Don’t let the cold weather fool you — it really is spring, and our concert is a little more than a month away. Tomorrow evening’s rehearsal will pull together the final section of the Williams march, which we didn’t have time to complete last week, vitalize the tempi in Moth, revisit the Mendelssohn accompaniment (Barton has arranged the missing 4 measures for us), plus the Smith and Mackey. It’s simply another important rehearsal.
The flute section is having a rehearsal at 6:45 pm. I know the trumpets had a sectional on March 28. Who else is jumping on the sectional bandwagon?
Next week, on April 18, Jeff Ball, conductor of the Brooklyn Wind Symphony, who commissioned and premiered Moth, will be with us to clinic a rehearsal of that piece.
See you tomorrow!
Mark Dodge has an extra ticket to see the Mnozil Brass (they are AMAZING if you’ve never checked them out) at the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall this coming Wednesday, April 6 at 7:30 pm. The ticket is $38. Contact Mark Dodge (nomani_dodge@hotmail.com) if you’re interested.
We’re back at it on Monday evening at TMH. I’ve updated the rehearsal plan, and am very excited to see everyone again, refreshed, and ready to roll!
There’s a lot going on right now as we prepare for the Spring, Exchange, and Caramoor concerts, and action is required by you regarding the Exchange weekend:
Enjoy the weekend, see you Monday!
