Update for March 25

I’ve just moved the rehearsal material posted for last week to this Monday. Please check the Rehearsal this Week page.

There is some snow in the forecast again for Sunday into Monday. Please be sure to double-check your email or this site again by 3:00 pm Monday to confirm our rehearsal status for Monday evening. Or call a friend after 3:00 pm if you don’t have internet access at that time.

To all of our friends celebrating the holiday, have a joyous Passover!

March 18 rehearsal cancelled

We are canceling tonight’s WSW rehearsal because of the weather report. We are concerned about the ice accumulation as the evening progresses. In retrospect, we were lucky with our January rehearsal in the snow. We don’t want to tempt fate. Your safety is very important.

We’ll reconvene next Monday, March 25, without our friends who are celebrating the holiday. If you expect to be celebrating, please email Claudia so she has a complete list of who we expect will be observing the holiday.

It is our hope to gain an extra rehearsal on April 8. We are awaiting a response from TMH in regard to the availability of the hall. Please check your calendars and reserve this now, if possible. Originally, we thought this would be the vacation week for many schools, but as it turns out, most schools are in session anyway that week. (In fact, it seems that my school is the only school on vacation that week — but I will put be there on April 8 if we can get the hall.)

I’ll be in touch later in the week with the rehearsal plan for March 25 and an update on April 8.

Prism Concert at NVOT

The rehearsal order for Monday is posted on the Rehearsal this Week page. We are rehearsing in our regular space at TMH.

This Tuesday, I will conduct my final Prism Concert at NVOT, the twenty-second such concert I’ve produced there. If you have never seen this type of concert, I encourage you to join us — Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 pm, at Northern Valley-Old Tappan. The Westchester Ceremonial Brass is our featured guest ensemble. All five players of the WCB are full-time members or frequent subs in WSW. This concert concept is something that I am considering for WSW for a future concert, so I welcome your comments and questions should you be able to attend.
