Congratulations for a fine performance!

Thank you to everyone who helped to make this past Sunday’s concert a success! It has taken me a couple days to get this message out to you, because 2 of my 5 websites went down in the wake of the storm, and I only got them up and running tonight.

Troy Messner wrote to me on Sunday evening. I think this sums up the day pretty well. Troy did not mince words.

First off, what a highlight of my year yesterday was. To get back to music and purely the appreciation of the art has really recharged my batteries. Please tell the group that in all my years, I have never felt more welcomed and appreciated as a guest, that in turn, shows through the performance. For me, and the group.  Your groups value together far outweighs the sum of each individual. What a joy and fantastic experience.

Jeff Grogan was equally thrilled to be involved in Sunday’s performance. I had dinner with him Saturday evening, and he spoke about your dedication at length.

I want to especially thank Claudia for her extensive work to communicate and coordinate with the personnel to resolve issues throughout the cycle, Scott Rimm-Hewitt for coming in so willingly at the last minute to sit in for both the dress and concert, our anonymous donor for the pizza provided on Saturday, Jim & Matt for their work to recruit new businesses for ads, and the other Board members for their input and assistance. But the big thanks go to you — the pro-am players of WSW — for your musicianship and dedication to this ensemble. What we accomplished this past weekend, in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, was nothing short of a musical miracle.

Rest, practice your scales and arpeggios, and we’ll see you next Monday at 7:30 pm.
